CONIFA – the Confederatıon of Independent Football Associatıons, representıng people worldwide who lack independence and live in bondage – is organizing a tournament in London, UK. For the first time, the East Turkestan football team will also participate in this prestigious organization’s ournament.

Following the football tournaments that Uyghur communities in Europe organized for years, the East Turkestan Football Association (ETFA) was established in 2019 to take on this task and create a long-awaited football team made up of the country’s youth, which has become a source of pride for the people. Additionally, these tournaments, held in the Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Norway, and finally Belgium last year, have set the stage for friendly meetings every two years. The opportunity for only Uyghur teams from different countries to participate in these friendship tournaments has allowed Uyghur youth to strengthen fraternal ties and the spirit of naƟonal unity. This wonderful and meaningful step will now make its voice heard on the international stage.

The participation of the East Turkestan National Football Team, along with the teams from Tibet and Tamil Eelam, in sports competions will also be seen as a demonstration of the national position.

This participation, which is the first for the Uyghur Diaspora, is also of great significance in terms of increasing the visibility of the East Turkestan people on international plaƞorms. Finally, we are confident that the East Turkestan National Football Team will compete on the field not only as a team but also as the pride of the people. Shouldn’t we contribute to these outstanding young people who will represent us in this organization, which will be the voice of the Uyghur people and will be a wonderful opportunity to show our existence and support this honorable and useful cause?
